What Kind of Omen Am I by zakia henderson-brown

Winner of the 2017 Chapbook Fellowship

Selected and introduced by Cate Marvin

I love henderson-brown’s poems for their intelligence, their variety, and most especially for their refusal to assimilate amongst themselves. The poems in this collection act in the manner that gears yoke a bicycle’s wheel, parts pulling in an opposite direction that all the while maintain the tension that creates the working whole.

Edition: 500 copies of the winning books were printed by the Prolific Group and designed by Gabriele Wilson, with covers by Kitty McCall.
